the guys had brought a gorgeous fruit salad, several muffins, scrambled eggs, and slices of cooked bacon.

“Omigosh, this smells so good,” Donna said.

Apparently, the boy and the jet ski ride had knocked the grogginess right out of her. “How did you get all this out here?”

“Chris and I made an extra trip this morning,” Jared said, sitting down on the edge of the blanket. “There’s a camping grill in there if you want to heat anything up,” he added, pointing at a green metal box next to the picnic basket.

“Wow, I’m impressed,” Donna said.

“Well, we’re impressive,” Christopher joked, sitting down so close to her their thighs touched.

Donna blushed. Her curly hair had turned into a wild mane on the ride and she smoothed it back into a low ponytail. She looked beautiful, all flushed and happy and wet.

“I’m growing on you now, aren’t I?” Jared asked Donna in a mock-cocky way.
